Soil Week hybrid event - Hungary

Kossuth Club, Budapest (and online)

Soil Protection in Hungary

Ten years ago, the Hungarian Ombudsman for Future Generations (HOFG) and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) issued a policy statement on soil protection. The document provided legislative recommendations based on scientific data and advocated for a system that accounts for soil multifunctionality and soil life. At the European Union level, the 2021 European Green Deal and the EU Soil Mission established specific objectives to protect and restore soil health.

On 24 April, 09:30 - 14:30 CET, the Institute of Advanced Studies (iASK) will host a workshop* in Budapest (and online) to support the development of a research and innovation roadmap for soil health. The event is part of Soil Week 2026.

The workshop features contributions from:

Hungarian Ombudsman for Future Generations (HOFG)
✅ Constitutional Court of Hungary
Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg (iASK)
HUN-REN Centre for Agricultural Research (TAKI)
✅
Corvinus University of Budapest
