SOLO to take part in the 3rd Global Soil Biodiversity Conference

01 Mar 2023

As a key project within the Soil Mission Objective, SOLO will take part in the 3rd Global Soil Biodiversity Conference organised by the Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative (GSBI) between 13th and 15th March in Dublin, Ireland. The event will be a great opportunity to promote the project, as it promises to be “the top meeting for all scientists, technologists, experimentalists and modellers, students and practitioners working on any aspects of soil biodiversity science and its linkages to the functioning of our global biosphere.”

The event, which is expected to welcome 1,000 participants from around the world, is organised by the GSBI: a grassroots scientific collaboration of nearly 4,000 members from 126 countries, seeking to promote the best available scientific knowledge of soil biodiversity and associated ecosystem functions to inform environmental policy at a global scale.

SOLO’s partner Pensoft Publishers will present the project’s mission and objectives at the conference, as well as the data-driven Biodiversity Data Journal (BDJ). At Pensoft’s booth, participants can find more information about SOLO, the project’s promotional materials, as well as learn more about the newly launched GBIF-led article collection in the Biodiversity Data Journal, titled Soil biodiversity

Project coordinator Dr. Carlos Guerra from iDiv will also be attending the event, along with experts from SOLO’s partnering institutions LUKE and NIOO.

You can find more information about the event on the conference website.
